Sterling Allan of PESN has conducted an interview with Alexandros Xanthoulis, CEO of Defkalion Green Technologies.
Xanthoulis states that each reactor is working at 5 kW per hour, operating at between 350-500 degrees Celcius. The reactor needs to be heated to 180 C before the reaction takes place, and then the reaction is maintained by spark plugs pulsed every 15 seconds. They have calculated that energy costs would be around $.035 per kWh, and that heating the average home would be around $300 every six months. He says that they have a reactor that has been running for 8 months now without any recharge.
He mentions that the company is working with leading car, phone tower, motorcycle, aviation, and nuclear energy companies. He reports that they are having a high level of interest from companies around the world; over 400 companies have contacted the company, and they have selected 19 to work with so far.
The company expects to be able to show a working reactor at NI Week in Texas this August, and mentions that they won?t be doing any more media interviews until then.
